JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company has an opening for Civil/Environmental Engineer who will work on civil/site design, permitting, and bidding and construction phase services. This position will assist with engineering analyses and design for water resources projects such as fish passage, dam removal, culvert replacement, recreation enhancement, habitat improvement, dredging, and hydropower development. We are seeking a committed, detail-oriented individual to utilize their knowledge and experience for our clients’ immediate and future projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of feasibility studies, design plans and specifications, quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates, construction sequencing plans, and permit applications under direction from a Professional Engineer
  • Design drafting using AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Engineering design calculations
  • Preparation of supporting design reports to document engineering calculations and design
  • Assistance with bidding and construction phase services
  • Assistance with proposal writing and cost estimating

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • BS in civil or environmental engineering (MS preferred)
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training, or plan in place to become registered
  • 0 to 2 years of experience
  • Experience with design drafting software such as AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired

  • Field data collection with survey equipment
  • Proficiency with GIS software such as ESRI
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic analysis (e.g., HEC-RAS, HY-8) and/or geotechnical analysis
  • Permitting, specification writing, cost estimating, bidding, and/or construction phase services
  • Design of recreational facilities, habitat improvements, stream restoration projects, fish passage structures, culverts, roads, earthworks, dredging, stormwater, and/or flood control projects
