JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company has an opening for an Accountant | Benefits Administrator with experience in payroll accounting and/or human resources/benefits administration. The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, knowledge of various benefit programs, and ability to handle confidential information. This position will work within a small group of accountants and other administrative support staff to assist in a range of duties, including in-house processing of bi-weekly payroll with QuickBooks, enrollment and administration of staff benefit programs (i.e., health, dental, vision and life insurance, health savings, health reimbursement, flexible spending, 401k, paid family leave, long-term and short-term disability, etc.), human resource reporting, invoicing, and supporting the Treasurer in developing other reporting information. We are seeking a committed, detail-oriented individual, who wants to apply their knowledge of payroll accounting and benefits administration to support our team.

This position will work out of our New Hartford, NY office and should not be expected to be fully remote. Our offices follow a hybrid work model, and flexibility to work remotely for specific circumstances is available.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payroll processing and reporting/quarterly payroll tax reporting in multiple states
  • Benefits enrollment and administration
  • Human resources/benefits reporting
  • Tracking contract-specific reporting requirements
  • Providing financial reporting and business management support to CEO and Treasurer
  • Accounts receivable (monthly invoicing and tracking, account status responses upon request)
  • Provide support to Project Managers, including budget tracking and notifications for invoice payments and overdue accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Strong background in payroll and financial reporting
  • Experience in HR or benefits administration
  • Mature individual who is able to handle sensitive financial information appropriately
  • Experience working with databases and accounting programs (i.e., QuickBooks Accounting)
  • Adept with Microsoft Office/Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Aptitude to work independently with a high level of organization
  • Initiative to perform beyond their assigned tasks
